The rent was to adjust every five years based on CPI and was not to exceed 20% each renewal term. The initial term was 5 years with three (5) year renewal terms. The First Amendment dated September 30, 2005, provided for a new start date of September 1, 2006 for five years with three additional (5) year terms. The rent was at $540 per month with a 10% rent increase every five years. A second amendment was signed on November 22, 2016, with the successor as Crown Castle with the current extension term expiring in August 2021. Village Administrator George Schafer said the Village has secured property near Archer Avenue and Derby Road for a public works location, including a new water tower, salt storage and other public works related needs.
A new water tower will be built in Lemont to help meet current water demands and serve future growth, Village officials stated. At a recent meeting, the Village Board approved the issuance of $7.2 million in general oblicagion bonds to support water infrastructure projects.
